Accept payments from your customer by selecting the terminal icon in the home screen.
You will enter the amount of the payment, select a transaction type and click ... to process and continue to enter your customers contact & location information. If you want to process the sale without adding information ...
Your customer will be instructed to Tap or Insert their card.
The Orchard Terminal can accept contactless payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay by tapping their phone on the Orchard Terminal when prompted to do so.
Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, JCB and China Union Pay cards can be accepted using the card insert reader. Contact payments prompt your customer to insert their card and will tell them to remove their card when the transaction is complete.
All Cards with [icon] can be processed contactless.
When the transaction is approved the receipt will print. There will be the option to print 2 copies; one for the customer and one for your records.
After you print the receipt you will be back to the home screen and ready to process another transaction.
Note:
The Cardholder may be requested to enter a PIN to process the transaction. Adjusting the transaction to accept tips can also be enabled so your customers can enter the tip them selves.
Transaction Types identify if the transaction is money you are receiving or paying out.
Sales and Authorizations are used to capture funds from your customer. Using your terminal you will accept payments as Sales, so at a later point, the settlement of the transaction will occur in your next batch. This initiates a deposit in your bank account for all of your Sales.
An Authorization is a transaction to validate the card and the amount for the payment is available. To capture the transaction you must change the status and capture the transaction, like a sale.
Transaction Types
- Sales - Immediate revenue
- Authorizations - Potential revenue
- Capture - Convert an Authorization to a sale
- Voids - Cancels a sale our authorization that has not settled.
- Refunds - Refunds the payment to a cardholder for a sale from a prior settlement.
